Rules for attendance
Attendance is by invitation only. All attendees of the previous
workshops will be invited automatically. Any previous attendee may
propose additional persons to be invited. Such a proposal should include
a statement about activities of the proposed person within the scope of
the workshop.
All attendees are expected to contribute to the workshop (exceptions
can be made upon special request). In the case of several attendees from
the same group, only one presentation is required.
Invited persons should electronically send an extended
abstract of two pages (postscript or ASCII format)
to the General Chair by May 1, 1999, indicating the list
of co-authors who would also like to attend. Notification about
acceptance will be mailed by June 15, 1999.
Attendance is limited to about 70 participants. Registrations will
be processed on a first-come first-served basis.
Publication
Authors may submit presentation slides or full papers
which will be included in the workshop handouts. There will be
no formal proceedings.
Depending on the rating of contributions by the
program committee, authors may be invited to submit
a full paper for a special issue of ACM Transactions
on Design Automation of Electronic Systems (TODAES).
Selected contributions from the 1998 workshop held in Witten (Germany)
have been published as a special issue of Kluwer's
Design Automation for Embedded Systems journal.
Location
The Middle Rhine Valley, located in central Germany between the
cities of Koblenz and Mainz, is named after the river Rhine, and it is
famous for its large variety of good wines.
The valley is covered with several castles that date back to the Middle Ages.

Villa Rheinfels is a part of the Schloss Rheinfels castle
built on a hill above the town of St. Goar in 1245. The castle
now serves as a hotel, while Villa Rheinfels offers modern conference
facilities.
Schloss Rheinfels is located opposite to the famous Loreley Rock
and offers an impressive view of the Middle Rhine Valley and the river Rhine.
St. Goar is easily accessible by car or train from Frankfurt and
Dusseldorf airports. Detailed travel information is provided below.
